Certified Shari'ah Ratings Analyst

It is for rating analysts and rating committee members, investors and fund managers who use ratings, and staff of institutions and sukuk originators preparing for a rating. It covers Shari'ah compliance and fiduciary ratings of institutions under AAOIFI Governance Standard No. 10 (eligibility, independence, the six rated areas, benchmark hierarchies, weights, rating scale, procedures, rating committee and reports) and of sukuk and other Islamic finance instruments under GS 17 (scope, the two rated aspects, the four instrument types, the hybrid test, weights by type and jurisdiction-specific ratings).

How it works: study the linked course Shari'ah Compliance, Internal Shari'ah Audit and Ratings, then sit a 40-question certification exam in 75 minutes. The pass mark is 70%, and the certificate is valid for three years.

This is an independent ifSPACE certification. It is free, it is not an AAOIFI qualification, and it is not accredited or endorsed by AAOIFI or any regulator.
