Certified Shari'ah Board Secretariat Professional

It is for secretaries to Shari'ah supervisory boards, staff of SSB secretariats and Shari'ah compliance departments, and others who support the SSB's work day to day. It covers the SSB's operations under AAOIFI Governance Standard No. 20 (the charter, quorum, meetings, agendas, minutes, decisions by circulation, documentation, product approval checklists, development and performance assessment), the secretariat's role under GS 1 (2024), the decision-making process, query formats and minimum contents of a fatwa under GS 18, and the review and report of the SSB under GS 21.

How it works: study the linked course The Shari'ah Governance Framework and the Shari'ah Supervisory Board, then sit a 40-question certification exam in 75 minutes. The pass mark is 70%, and the certificate is valid for three years.

This is an independent ifSPACE certification. It is free, it is not an AAOIFI qualification, and it is not accredited or endorsed by AAOIFI or any regulator.
