Certified Sukuk Governance Professional
An advanced ifSPACE certification in governing a sukuk issue from issuance to maturity under AAOIFI's GS 12.
2 courses
This certification is for people who govern, oversee or advise on sukuk issues: originators' boards and company secretaries, treasury and capital markets teams, trustees, sukuk Shari'ah board members and secretariats, internal and external Shari'ah auditors, and regulators' staff.
It covers AAOIFI Governance Standard 12 on sukuk governance across the whole lifecycle: the pillars and organs of governance, the trustee, the sukuk's Shari'ah supervisory board and its fatwa, the SPV and agency relationships, the management of proceeds and assets, changes to the board or fatwa, termination and restructuring, the prospectus, external Shari'ah audit and reporting to sukuk-holders. The Shari'ah rules of sukuk in Shari'ah Standards 17 and 62 are used as context. To earn it, you study the linked courses and then sit a certification exam of 40 questions in 75 minutes, drawn from a larger bank. The pass mark is 70%, you have one attempt per enrollment, and the certificate is valid for three years.
This is an independent ifSPACE certification. It is free, it is not an AAOIFI qualification, and it is not accredited or endorsed by AAOIFI or any regulator.
