Certified Internal Shari'ah Auditor

It is for internal Shari'ah auditors, heads of internal Shari'ah audit, internal auditors moving into Shari'ah audit, and audit committee members. It covers internal Shari'ah audit under AAOIFI Governance Standard No. 11: objectives, ethics, quality and independence, the three ways of setting up the function, reporting to the audit committee and the SSB, the charter and manual, risk-based planning, materiality, sampling, IT techniques, working papers, periodic and engagement reports and follow-up. It also covers the Shari'ah compliance function the auditor assesses (GS 9) and the institutional framework for ethics (GS 16) that internal audit may be asked to review.

How it works: study the linked course Shari'ah Compliance, Internal Shari'ah Audit and Ratings, then sit a 40-question certification exam in 75 minutes. The pass mark is 70%, and the certificate is valid for three years.

This is an independent ifSPACE certification. It is free, it is not an AAOIFI qualification, and it is not accredited or endorsed by AAOIFI or any regulator.
